Strange angle but I do see your point. People may tune in just to see how wired Max appears on a given night.
Not true! I gave posters every available option including the option that Max is the best................. You are correct though, a Larry vs. Max poll is in order & I'll put that poll up shortly.
It's Kellerman's low class NY accent that makes him sound like he's from Jersey. I'm from NY too & he's a sad, cheap version of a NYer. We're much classier than that. Kinda like "My cousin Vinny" with the stereotypical NY accent.
I like Lewis as a commentator. He has a real fighter's perspective but sometimes he stutters a bit..............he's improved quite a bit.
I voted Kellerman's alright, but Merchant's no doubt much better. Kellerman gets on my nerves too sometimes, like how he disagrees with the other commentators when it's not even needed and they've been around a hell of a lot longer..
HBO ought to have a commentator who does a 10 out of 10 job, no less. Afterall, they have ONE position to fill and about a million applicants. Max Kellerman is really the BEST out there? Please. Obviously not. There are no doubt dozens of us on this forum or more that could do a much better job than his ass. Politics had to have played a role in his hiring because it's just so obvious that he's sub-par. He constantly makes the amateurish mistake of "trying to hard" and comes off sounding like an easily-excitable twat. **** this guy. Why isn't he fired??? If you voted "He's alright" then you should agree that he ought to be FIRED immediately.
I used to hate Max on ESPN but that's mainly because he always seems to be shouting. He won me over once he got his own show - because he was one of the few sports show hosts ( like Stephen Smith) who regularly promoted boxing and the fighting sports on his program. Honestly, I wish they would give Kellerman Jim Lampley's job and keep Merchant on with Max. Out of the people mentioned on this thread as "not knowing boxing" - Lampley is the one it best applies to. Max is the best.
Dude can you imagine listening to that goof ball Kellermans voice over 12 rounds? always shouting all the way through the clinches and ****, getting excited over the tiniest of things.. Lampley's voice is so much better and he knows enough about the sport to be in the position he is..
Yes, I can. I'm sick of Lampley's voice shouting about things when he has no idea what he's talking about. I agree that Lampley's voice is more pleasant to the ear - but his lack of knowledge is inexcusable at this point in his career.
Your opinion then, not gonna try sway you.. Just don't come crying when your ears start bleeding from the abuse that half nut job's voice will do :thumbsup
I like Max, he's ok. Espacially after the PBF-DLH fight, when he didn't hesitate to say his opinion, that Mayweather won clearly, while the whole rest of the HBO-team told that they had seen a close fight.
