What belt did Margarito have? Baldomir was the lineal champ, hardly a "cherrypick" since he took the title from Zab.

lol, Baldomir had 16 losses and beat a very inconsistent Zab (who Floyd has already beaten). Margo was the longest reigning WW champ. I was at these forums discussing the events whilst it was all unfolding, everyone was calling for that fight.

Instead we got a boring-ass fight with Baldo who possessed 0 threat and have Tiger Woods walking out of the match.

Mayweather fought Zab after he fought Baldomir. Mayweather was planning to fight Zab for the lineal title when Zab lost to Baldomir so Mayweather fought Baldomir and then fought Zab. You Pac fans seem to live in an alternative reality.

Irrelevant. Pac was also a huge weight drainer at those weights.

That's actually not true. He debuted at 106 pounds professionally. He had to lie about his age to get licensed to fight. He had to put weights in his pockets to get licensed to fight to increase the weight on the scale. He did this because he was malnourished.

Pac cut weight at various points in his career, but so does virtually everybody else. Do you remember Crawford at 135? He looked so skinny and sickly that he was badly hurt by a blown up Bantamweight midget.

Only when it comes to PBF is it cherry picking to fight the Lineal champ of a division, especially when Margo was nothing special and was a mere WBO titleholder.:deal: BTW he was offered more money and freedom and a shot at the lineal champ. That is more than Arum could offer who had no interest in pursuing a fight with Oscar and low balled PBF on other fights.
    Read it and weep.:deal:

Arum said while Mayweather would have taken the $8 million to fight Margarito, he asked for a $10 million guarantee to fight opponents such as Miguel Cotto and Ricky Hatton, when Arum was only willing to guarantee $7 million.

Arum said Mayweather also asked for $20 million to fight De La Hoya, a fight Arum said he wasn't interested in participating in.

"That's not in the cards," Arum said. "He wants $20 million for the De La Hoya fight? It's not there. Sometimes, my man, you gotta know when to hold 'em and when to fold 'em. We'll talk about things down the road."

At the end of the day Arum screwed up bigtime he undervalued PBF who went on to bigger and better things. PBF made 30 million for Hatton 50 million for Cotto 25 million for Oscar.

You act as if Margo was a world beater. He wasn't. He was a mere WBO titleholder he wasn't the champ of the division Baldo was. PBF originally set his sights on Zab who was the champ but he lost to Baldo. If Zab had lost to Margo and lost his lineal title PBF would have fought him. It's not his fault Margo only cared about that lame ass WBO belt for years.

Pac was much bigger than the guys he fought at those weights. His reach alone dwarfed guys at 108 and 112.

Towards the end of his time there yes. At the beginning no, not really. He was 16 and was still growing.

He beat Cotto, was the bogeyman of his time, he was a world beater at that point in time. MUCH more so than ****in 16 losses Baldomir.

    Come on man.

Cotto was a great win for Pac. It was the one time that I picked wrong against Pac.
