Did anybody catch what Max Kellerman said after the JMM-Pac fight was replayed on HBO tonight?

He summed up JMM just beautifully!

Kellerman said that this era's featherweight division of Erik Morales, MAB, Pac and JMM, may have been one of the richest featherweight era's in boxing history......
....Kellerman closed out his thoughts by saying that in his opinion, the best featherweight of the era will probably not get recognized as such, because in his opinion, the best fighters the division had to offer ducked JMM for much of his prime. He went on to say that he has yet to see JMM get beaten. He thought JMM beat Manny Pacquiao both times, and with Passion and energy declared JMM to be the best featherweight of the era!!!!
.......at that time Joe Testitore stepped in to agree, that he too thought JMM won both fights!

The passion in which Kellerman stated his opinion was satisfying to this soul.
    Just sweet!!!!:yep

Here's to the best featherweight of his era.....

    JUAN MANUEL MARQUEZ!
:happy :happy :happy :happy :happy :happy :happy :happy :happy :happy :happy

    :happy

:good I've always thought JMM was the best of the bunch, at this point he has proven it. He is overall the best fighter, though his resume doesnt show it unfortunately.

    This is all true.
Would love to see him fight Naz to end the argument about Naz ducking Juan Manuel Marquez or Juan Manuel Marquez ducking Naz.
Marquez is still active, in good shape, but I guess all will depend on Prince Naseem Hamed.

True, and Juan Marquez can still take on Naz, but I'm afraid that it will all depend on Naz.

Please, unless there is word that Naz is making a comeback, please dont loiter this thread mentioning that Hamed can still fight JMM or any of these top superfeatherweights for that matter.

.....and if Hamed were to make a comeback, believe me, JMM will be the last fighter Hamed would want to fight!

I knew Kellerman wasn't going to dissapoint us.
And Bob Papa enforcing his opinion makes it better.

I stand corrected, that was Bob Papa that agreed with Kellerman, for some reason I got him confused with Joe Testitore.:D

If that is true then JMM should face Joan Guzman next...

Yeah JMM is the dark horse of the featherweights, a truly accomplished fighter. I rate him above Morales and about equal with Pac.

Here's the rub though. Try ranking this featherweight era, from Naseem Hamed, Erik Morales, Marco Antonio Barrera, Juan Manuel Marquez and Manny Pac, in terms of a) accomplishment and resume and b) head-to-head, prime for prime, pure natural talent. Here's how my list works out.

    A) Accomplishment

    1. Marco Antonio Barrera
    2. Manny Pac
    3. Naseem Hamed
    4. Juan Manuel Marquez
    5. Erik Morales

    B) Natural Talent

    1. Naseem Hamed
    2. Marco Antonio Barrera
    3. Manny Pac
    4. Juan Manuel Marquez
    5. Erik Morales

Even though Marquez has been an incredibly consistent performer, and as Max says he's never clearly and conclusively been beaten his whole career, he's in an era thats stacked with talent. If we're honest we cant rate him above Naz in terms of god-given ability, and his resume will never be as impressive as Barrera's coz he was ducked and avoided so much.

And btw I rate Erik Morales a lot he's a warrior, but he comes bottom in my list, sorry. It just shows how good featherweight has been over the last few years that he's 5th on this list.

I feel a little sorry for Marquez coz he's a truly great fighter who was overlooked.

yeah. if jmm is that great, let him fight either guzman or casamayor next while waiting for the pac rematch.

i've even read a news item that says jmm is actually considering to again fight barrera (wtf?) while pac is busy w/ diaz. :patsch :-(
