Mayweather's win over Canelo looks very good.

At the time Mayweather was 36. Canelo 23, but Canelo had 42 fights under his belt, beating names like Mosely and Cintron. This was not viewed as an easy fight when it happens. Older champions seldom pick undefeated up and coming much younger talent with a style to beat them.

This was a risky choice by Mayweather. One of his few risky picks, perhaps, but give him credit here.

At 154-160, Canelo cleaned out Khan, Chavez Jr, and Cotto. He is a talent.

 

Never said anything about a contract offer but the bottom line is that Mayweather called them out when he was in his 130-140lb prime and trying to become a superstar, and I see no reason whatsoever to doubt that he was sincere.

Can we all just hold tight for a second and join in unison and agree Canelo having wins over Mosley and Cintron means absolutely **** all in the debate of who should be ranked as the better fighter between Mayweather and Pacquiao

Maybe because he's giving us his actual opinion and the only other time you hear him he's surrounded by clowns like Jim Kelly and Harold Lederman. He forgot what it was like to be real, you can see it in his eyes

 

I’ve never understood the Kellerman hate. Followed him back when he first started writing for ESPN, and I always admired his passion for the sport and his hustle. Off the mark at times but he’s smarter and more perceptive than most people who discuss boxing for a living (or anonymously on Internet forums).
