I am a big Marquez fan but it's pretty much fact that they ducked EACHOTHER.

That was Kellerman, not me. Believe me, it took superhuman effort for me to even type the words "Morales" and "duck" in the same sentence.

I changed the title of the thread to see if some of Kellerman's fans will come in here.

I remember when Max said Judah was Pernell Whitaker with Tyson's punch, what a joke that turned out to be. He also said the Klitchkos wouldn't amount to anything on one of those ask Max segments:rofl:lol::D

There was an article how a Morales-JMM fight didn't happen because JMM's team priced themselves out.

..and other fights that fell through because of money issues with JMM.

JMM fought Ramos but he was supposed to fight D. Diaz. Diaz said that it wasn't worth it because he could just take an easier fight and he'd make about the same.

JMM said he wanted to fight a lefty, Judah stepped up, JMM's team said Judah asked for too much.

JMM wanted more than a 50-50 split against Pac in their proposed 2nd fight.

JMM and Hamed ducked each other, or JMM and Morales? Either way, not true at all. Hamed shamelessly ducked JMM. JMM was his mandatory, but an HBO darling. So he had support for his every move. As for JMM vs. Morales, JMM came into prominence MUCH too late. And was never really on the radar while Morales was making his legacy.

Arum never wanted his moneymaker Morales in with Marquez and controlling both fighters made it easy to keep them apart. It's the same move he's pulled time and time again; see Lopez-Gamboa and Donaire-Rigondeaux. This of course is also why Morales got the inside track for Pacquiao in 2005 despite losing his trilogy with Barrera and despite Marquez coming off a Fight of the Year performance with him.

how great does this make erik look, though....
maybe he didnt duck him, but he did shy away from him only because he felt it would be a boring scrap....in other words, erik has always wanted the best of the best fights for himself.......nothing to be ashamed of at all

Kellerman is usually right and pretty accurate with these sorts of matters.

I do feel that morales somewhat ducked marquez. can you blame him? jmm is better at this point in his career and morales is a shell of himself.

morales is not a ducker and would fight anyone but i get feeling his handlers said now is not the time. i dont blame them.

Marquez didn't chase effectively, Morales didn't bother when he was fighting his own impressive battles. That's it. Marquez wasn't feared, he was just largely ignored; once again Arum is to blame, as JMM was promoted under Top Rank early in his career and felt he was never properly represented. Steward has admitted to telling Hamed to avoid Marquez, and when Hamed did offer, it was on short notice. But Marquez could have made better choices. He wasn't relentlessly ducked, but people arguing for the other side like to blame it all on Marquez as well.

From 2000-2007 he had a trilogy with Barrera and Pacquiao. And in between that trilogy he fought Paulie Ayala, Guty Espadas, Injin Chi, and Zahir Raheem. You call that a duck? Kellerman is good at creating controversy to sell/hype fights or fighters.

how can someone accuse Morales of ever ducking another figher. With the amounts of wars hes been in I guaruntee you JMM would not be someone he would duck. Where there politics and dirty promoter games involved? Probably. But if you were to leave the decision to Morales wether to fight JMM or not I Bet you he would sign the contract.
