I get the impression he's talking about skill rather than resume.

Max said that Pep and Whitaker were the other 2 best pure boxers since World War II along with Floyd.

I would assume this is a given, when some people get out of their feelings and stop allowing their emotions to cloud their judgement, they'll be able to appreciate the skill set and overall greatness of one of the finest pure boxers certainly of our era and perhaps ever.

Kellerman is right, Floyd can fight well inside, box from distance and counter beautifully. He has the fastest feet of any fighter since WW2 and other than Pernell and Hopkins, is without doubt the finest defensive fighter since WW2.

The statement means he has the best fundamental skills and technique, not that he is unbeatble, or that he is actually the best fighter ever, as sometimes will overpowers skill.

This IMO is 100% correct. Its hard to find others with his skill level.

    He is a freak show.

who the heck did he deserve that? Fighting old mosley? JMM at 144 and didnt even make weight? Oscar who was done for? Man if he was in sugar ray leonards era, he'd be a scrub. The time he has a chance to prove he's in there, he makes excuses and didnt really want to fight pac and just said it for the fans. Max is wrong on this one.

I dont think you understand the statement. Please read my above post.

Its not about him being unbeatable, its about his skill level.

The Roy Jones that beat John Ruiz would beat the man that beat Ali?
