I like them both. I can see why they can be an acquired taste though.

I've said for ages that Max gets too much grieve. I remember him in his ESPN days when he was the only one holding the show together (it also helps that his favourite fighter is Pete Whitaker, lol).

He always strikes me as a proper fan who's lucky enough to be doing what all of us would kill to be doing. Getting paid for talking about our beloved sport.

Oh, and trust me, his knowledge on the history of boxing is second to none.

 

Agreed. He stills lacks the insight and impact of Larry but he'll get there one day.

 

I don't have any issues with Merchant, Kellerman or Steward. I think they're all brilliant if not a bit opinionated, it's Lampley who blows hot and cold.

And Lederman is great too.

 

Steward is a poor commentator, IMO. Doesn't seem to know what he's talking about half the time.

 

Kellerman, not a big fan of either (Merchant is a legend however) but for me Bunce seems to be "me me me" when talking. He's like the kid who was ignored at school so started shouting louder and louder to be heard and as a result becomes annoying to listen to for prolonged periods. His any other business' on Fighting Talk are usually brilliant as thats about the right amount of time for him to be speaking in any one segment.

Lederman is horrible. Merchant was good once but he's shot. Lampley is not any better either. His commentary is not that bad, but he's incredibily biased and it permeates the whole broadcast. There's hardly a fight where he's neutral.

I know you're a bit slow, so I'll help you through this:

There was no reason to cry your eyes out if Cintron-Alvarez hadn't been shown. It was a meaningless fight (as proven in the five rounds it lasted) and it provided minimal entertainment.

That was all I ever said. It just wasn't worth getting upset about like, say, if Cotto-Margarito II hadn't been shown.
