Max Schmeling KOs Joe Louis in colour!

Holy smokes every time I saw that fight in black and white I never noticed those punches... In color with better quality I now see the subtle rights he landed...

 

In seriousness good find. Cool to see that in color.

 

Louis himself said he didn't like to be pressured/pressed.....And then you think about
someone like prime Smoking Joe Frazier..

 

Max didn't really pressure Louis ,he waited for him to jab and countered with his right when Louis didn't return his left to the guard position.

 

Louis was coming off his honeymoon and his wife was around in camp.

No he wasn't, Louis got married a few hours before the Max Baer fight ,9 months earlier.
Louis spent too much time on the golf course before the Schmeling fight ,plus he was being horizontally entertained ,but not by Marva.

 

Oh ok. I remember reading about Louis not being totally focused and sharp. The golf encouraged Joe to hold his hands low (in Blackburn's opinion)

Louis had been putting his hands into places other than boxing gloves during his"training ," for this fight.!lol

 

The left hook that preceded it wasn't bad either.
