Max Schmeling vs. Floyd Patterson

The Max who beat Louis could take Floyd but it ain't a certainty.

 

Patterson on points.

 

I searched for this topic and like 4 or 5 threads came up. I like this match up. Not sure who wins but I can’t see it being easy for either man

 

Interesting matchup! I'm leaning towards Patterson by close decision but can see it either way. Floyd's speed may be the determining factor, but he'll have to be alert, Schmeling was smart and would be looking to land that big right.

 

I like this fight. Two comparably sized guys with decent power and good technical skills. Both could go fifteen rounds and both had success at the world level. Probably an exciting match

 

Schmeling was light years better than Ingo and not a huge difference style wise ... simply smarter, better conditioned with a much better chin .. (Ingo had more power) .. I have to say Max ..

 

Two people I suspect.

 

I have no clue at all. I love em both. I guess it all depends on one thing: Can Max deal with Floyds insane handspeed?
On the other hand. Like you already said; Max is similar to Ingo with way higher ring iq and much better counter ablilities. But I also think that the first fight of the trilogy was kinda blooper. So this could easily become a 1-1-1 trilogy.

 

I’m not sure who to pick either. Might be up for grabs. I can imagine it being a good action fight though

In my opinion, both could be floored. As to the winner, I'm thinking Max Schmeling most times.

 

Provided we are talking Marques of Queensbury regulations, I think Patterson dismantles old Hans in 8 one sided rounds, forcing a towel stoppage

 

I think max could shock Floyd.
Maybe in a Ingo type, out of the blue shot, that has Floyd hitting the deck early.
Obviously Floyd would jump up but I fear he ends up getting stopped eventually.
