I like Schmeling to win a decision here. He was a smarter fighter than George Chuvalo. But it would be a tough night. Max would have to constantly fend off Goerge’s relentless attacks.
Schmeling by decision. During his career, Max had three bouts with Paolino Uzcudun, the Basque Woodchopper, a contender known for his toughness and durability, the Chuvalo of his day. In their three bouts, Max won two decisions and a draw. I would expect a similar result with Chuvalo. In an action-packed fight, I believe Schmeling's right hand would hold Chuvalo off and give Max the victory.
I can envision George Chuvalo being a real pain in the "you know what" at times but in the end I agree with Max Schmeling winning by Unanimous Decision.
If the Chuvalo that ko d Quarry showed up no question he d ko Max. He was 217 of muscle. Max was about 190 at his peak. He d be much too strong for Max like Baer was and he was 10 pounds lighter then George.
Really? Based on what? Quarry was highly inconsistent and worse fighter than Max and even then Chuvalo was a bit lucky in this fight. So what? Chuvalo lost against Folley, Patterson, Corletti and Ellis. None of them was significantly bigger than Max and most of them were clearly worse. Are you really comparing Max Baer to Chuvalo? Baer was much more dangerous fighter.
Folley, Patterson, and Ellis in primes would all defeat Max. Corletti Had some height and ability to box and move none strengths for Max. He ran and they gave him the nod. Remember talking the version of George that beat Quarry 217 in great shape fought like a wounded animal was throwing thunderous left hooks. He d be over powering the 25 pound less Max and would catch him and stop him.
LOL Chuvalo would lose big and try and make a bigger myth of himself- “he landed a hundred shots on me and I landed one, If I had his skills we’d never see me lose” Some bullsh1t to excuse the fact he is ****ing rubbish and had no talent compared to real ATGs.
