Cooney is tailormade for Schemling, since he’s a complete sucker for a right hand as Holmes, Spinks, and Foreman showed when they stopped Cooney. I see Schmeling doing the same.
That short window in the late 70's/early 80's Cooney overwhelms him. Cooney was 10x the boxer that Baer was and hit harder with more concision than Baer. He just overpowers Schmeling plain and simple.
Schmeling hated being bullied upon, shown in the Louis V Schmeling rematch. Cooney would have done that from the first bell and did the job.
