Yeah I don't think Machen would be overly aggressive as he was the first time around, as he now knew the dangers Ingo posed. He tried to invoke a rematch clause in their contract, which Ingo reneged on. Machen wanted that rematch badly, so much so he actually took Ingo and his managers to court.
I agree, I do think Machen would have been wary. But he became a much trickier boxer afterwards that I believe Ingo wouldn't be able to land on cleanly, and I would give it to Machen. Facts support that Ingo was ducking Eddie.
Schmeling by stoppage. Good fight, but Max was on different tier than Ingo. He'd outjab him, make him impatient, then counter with serious straight right and stop him quickly after.
Bull**** move saying a former Olympic Silver medalist and world heavyweight champion had "no heart". You don't have the right to do, not behind a keyboard. I know you are a younger guy but respect is an important thing in life especially when talking about a an accomplished fighter that had that kind of success in the ring. As far as who wins between these two, it's a pickem fight for me. Schmeling was probably the more complete fighter but Ingo was very smart and fought to his strengths. I could see Max winning on points but I could also see Ingo landing that right hand at somepoint just like Louis did.
Hey my friend, tell me when these feeling first began, was it when Ingo landed his Bingo on Eddie Machen? He did a duet with Carol Burnett on television, it is on You Tube. Lol.
I noticed them a lot in past threads where people proposed fantasy matches w/ Johansson facing off against Cleveland Williams and Sonny Liston. There were other threads too, but I can't recall rn. You sure do place a lot of stock in his duet with Carol Burnett lol.
