For the record I think Walcott would eck out a narrow decision. Schmeling would have his fair share of moments though and it would be a close foought contest until the final bell. Walcott had better watch out in the rematch, though: Schmeling would know what to expect and would adapt accordingly.

I reckon these two would likely split a four fight series between 'em.

Over Walcott at his best? how will schmeling get away from walcotts jab?

joe louis said walcott was better than schmeling

I like walcott by unanimous decision. Jack sharkey revealed some things about schmeling, that he can be outslugged in close and bombarded with short hooks and uppercuts.......Walcott proved in marciano I how capable he was of adapting to this strategy. I also think overall walcotts slick movement/bag of tricks/ jab would be too much for max. Walcott had one of the best jabs ever, he tripled it and scheming could be vunerable to be hit with a jab........I dont see schmeling getting away from it. This would be a boring fight but walcott would be the effective agressoer.
