How would the best version of Schmeling cope with the Kronk trained southpaw, Michael Moorer? Both at light heavyweight and heavyweight?

If Moorer fought with the savvy he gained as a heavyweight but fought Schmeling at Max`s average fighting weight that would be the only chance Moorer would have because he was slower as heavy than Schmeling except when he first moved up when he was still quite light, problem is when Moorer first moved up he was all over the place, it would end like the first Louis fight vs Max and Moorer at light heavy had no defense either.

So you're saying that Schmeling stops Moorer?

Yes, if he could stop Louis he could stop Moorer and like Louis Moorer improved what I was saying was as he put weight on he slowed down and while he was lighter he couldn`t box so he would have to be a mix of the two, Swindell nearly knocked Moorer out at light heavy, he had a glass chin.

If they fought a series, both would win some, and lose some. Schmeling much smarter and disciplined in the ring, but, Moorer had better power and (maybe) speed (at heavyweight). I think at least one fight would end up like Schmeling- Louis 1. But, certainly Moorer could win if he fought a disciplined fight like he did against Holyfield the first time. Problem is, Moorer just didn't stay disciplined very often.

Not a huge fan of Moorer at HW because you never knew who was showing up. I'll take Max because you know your getting a fighter that always shows up in top condition and with a game plan. Max obviously has the power to end it. I'll take Max here

My only caveat would be how does Max do with a rightie?

This. Moorer was very talented, but wasn't always mentally there.

Moorer was very negative in his first fight with Holy and Evander looked like there was something wrong with him, a whole in his heart or something, it was a dreadful fight.

I agree with you on that being a dreadful fight. Some of that dread was alleviated for me since I won money betting against Evander (who appeared to be running out of steam at that time in spite of squeaking past an out of shape Bowe in their rematch). I then more than doubled my money by deciding to bet against Moorer in his next fight no matter who he fought. I was close to second guessing myself when that turned out to be the ancient George Foreman. But, after sweating it for 9 rounds, it paid off again.

I'll go w/ those accurate hands of MM to win a decision. Probably one of those bouts where the scorecards are lopsided, but a tough fight for the winner. But I sure cannot picture Max landing anything close to the volume of punches Moorer does.

And I think some southpaw confusion and taking too much time to figure out Moorer's style means he's down on the cards early. And playing come from behind does really not suit his style. No way MM stops the guy, but he might have to weather a storm like in the Alex Stewart fight.

Moorer was dreadful in the Stewart fight and got much better later on in his heavyweight career.

Sure had a lot of wins for a dreadful guy. And it wasn't as if Schmeling didn't have his losses.
