It's annoying enough that you 2 have the same avatar, but do you have to post consecutively as well??
In this scenario neither man would have the advantage of being a natural heavy because neither ever were. Spinks was 6’2” and looked pretty good when weighting between 199 to around 205. Schmeling I believe was 6’1 and was 192 for his best fight with Joe Louis. Both could punch a bit but not sure who hit harder at heavy. Both could go fifteen rounds and were defensively smart fighters. I think Spinks might have had the better chin as the only time he ever kissed the canvas was in the last fight of his career against Mike Tyson - a fight he didn’t want to be in anyway. I’m not 100% sold on either man but if someone is picking Schmeling to win based on his win over Joe Louis then I would play devil’s advocate in saying that Spinks would present a very different approach. Louis fought foolishly in that match by trying to box with a boxer. Spinks at age 30 was smarter than Louis was at 22 and awkward in ways that Schmeling never saw. It’s a tossup
I wouldn’t agree really. He spent most of his years as a Heavyweight, is known for it. Spinks is quite different. Anyway, it’s an interesting fight. I’d take Schmeling but wouldn’t really be surprised if Spinks got him.
