This. It makes no sense for Maxi’s team to pay Garcia to come over, where neither of them are huge names in the UK if we’re being realistic and the show won’t do great with that as a headliner.

Maxi is on a great run at the moment - his big money fight will be him going to the states as an opponent against one of their stars. With the amount of big names at Lightweight, it makes sense for him to go abroad and box someone like Davis, Haney or even Garcia but in the states.

Ryan needs tick over winnable fights that pay him big money. That fight does that.

never said anything about Walsh. Was talking more about Mckinson vs Ortiz. There no harm in trying to make that fight and changing Maxi's life. Whats the big deal

Can’t see it happening but crazier fights have happened. Maybe in the US but no chance Ryan Garcia comes to Yorkshire lol. If it did happen Garcia knocks him out in tremendous fashion. Maxi has done well lately but Garcia is on another level

Ah lads let's hope maxi gets a fight off this magnitude.
He sounds like one of the good guys who never got a break until lately

It's not a big deal. It's a thread on a boxing forum with not many comments.
You're talking about massive opportunities when he's just boxed the second Walsh featherweight. Michael Walsh better get ready.
Dropping Garcia's name is similar to how Shawn Porter's name was used a few months ago for Connor Benn. You'd have to be Eddie's no. 1 fanboy to buy it.

Garcia cant deal with Hughes slickness. He would take Ryan to slick school and by the end of the class Garcia will be thinking about something else to do other than boxing.

Well I’m probably the only one on the forum who’d love this to take place at the keepmoat.

I could have a few bevvys in my old local walk to the stadium and after no more than 9 minutes walk half a mile back to me mams and get my head down by 11pm!

If Eddie is serious about this, surely he has flown Maxi to San Antonio to be ringside tomorrow.

Do the Eddie cheerleaders still think he's fighting Hughes?

Can I just say that there's nothing wrong with people getting carried away with Hughes, he's a very likeable character and the run he's put together along with the life and career he's had, it's a great story. People just want to see him get a decent break and an opportunity to be the Cinderella man of his era, I'm one of those people.
