Interesting pairing. Marvin was a dedicated trainer whose stamina was fine so long as he wasn't confronted with serious resistance and hard body punishment. This one's going a full 15. I think Maxie takes an entertaining decision here. Johnson was a stereotypical southpaw with a deadly left cross and uppercut. (He instantly destroyed Alvino Manson with a quick succession of left uppercuts.) But Marvin did not possess the type of right hand required of most ATG southpaws, and he wasn't noted as a terrific body puncher. Each man would be in the role he was most comfortable playing. I'll take Rosenbloom's matador over Johnson's bull. While Maxie gets the win, Marvin gets the credit for making this fun to watch, and he'd never stop charging.
