In his last fight he made his debut at heavyweight against journeyman Dilmurod Satybaldiev and he failed to come out for the 7th round. He was dropped in the 4th. He has come out saying he cant find motivation to fight anymore so he has reitred.
That sucks, but it's probably the right call, he's had a ton of rough very entertaining fights, and it's starting to catch up to him. It's a pity he never got that career defining win, but at least he gave us this. Which is very ****ing awesome. This content is protected
Thank God they were allowed to use headgear in the amateurs. And evidently Clemente Russo had one hell of a bad day at the office.
Damned fine fighter and one of the greatest practitioners of Russian Slickness. Was very unlucky not to become a world champion against Joe Smith All his four losses were either razor close and/or highly competitive. He arguably beat Smith and Chilemba (first fight). Glowacki was closer than the judges had it. He lost a 93-97,93-97,& 94-96 decision to Zurdo after complaining of suffering from breathing problems in his corner in between rounds due to fighting at altitude. And his last loss was on a cut. Very unlucky. Went on a fine KO streak when he stepped up to CW Level
Yes. Best Case: Smith Jr won 4 rounds - and that requires giving him 2 close rounds. So - at a minimum - Vlasov should have won 116-112. But giving Vlasov the two close rounds instead is OK for me. Nor would it be unreasonable to deduct 1 or even 2 points for Smith Jr's rabbit punching. So it is accpetable to score this fight as wide as 118-108 in Vlasov's favor, IMO. I will miss Vlasov. He was a very skilled, quick, awkward fighter in two classes.
