One of the greatest round I've ever seen. . [ame="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=x2tPAhdsY34&feature=youtube_gdata_player"]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=x2tPAhdsY34&feature=youtube_gdata_player[/ame]
Look at the amount of leverage gatti's putting into his punches. I don't how the hell they took all that and kept standing.
I love that round, that fight, both those fighters, the trilogy..... I can't believe that fight is almost 10 years old. I remember so distinctly where I was and who I watched it with. In fact, I'm taking a trip in a couple of months and will see some of them.
I'll always remeber that round as well as the trilogy! One of the most memorable things that happened , was after ,either the second or third fight, Gatti and Ward were being interviewed by Larry Merchant, ward was drinking a bottle of water, after a swig he handed it to Gatti so he could drink too. I've never seen a fighter do that before. I don't know why, but that small act of kindness and respect has always stuck in my head.
That's what boxing holds over all other sports. No time outs in this sport. If you give up you get your ass beat.
awesome round. This one, corrales castillo's 10, and barrera/morales 5(I think) are the best rounds in the last 2 decades that come to mind.
