Just a random mash-up of ABC worthless fake illegitimate champions (plus Larry Holmes and Wlad) across the ages-

WBC Title: Sam Peter vs. Pinklon Thomas

Peter is coming off an ugly win over Oleg Maskaev. Thomas is coming off of a mind-numbingly boring win over Tim Witherspoon.

WBA Title: Ruslan Chagaev vs. Tony Tubbs

Two very skilled boxers. Tubbs is coming up a 15 round win over Greg Page, while Chagaev is coming off of a 12 round win over Matt Skelton.

IBF Title: Wladimir Klitschko vs. Larry Holmes

Holmes is now 36 and has just won a tough fight with Carl Williams. Klitschko defeated the WBO champion Sultan Ibragimov in February.

Linear champs from below moving up: David Haye vs. Michael Spinks

HOLMES VS KLITSCHKO- Although its still possible for Holmes to take this one, I would probably slightly favor Wlad to win a close decision over this version of Holmes. The Williams and Spinks fights showed clearly that Larry was slipping, and Klitschko would bring size, power and a few other attributes to the table that the other two didn't. William's jab gave Larry enough trouble, so I think Wlad may do a tad better.

THOMAS VS PETER- possibly a better a matchup than some think. These were both fighters who could bang, and occasionally liked to mix it up. I would probably give Pinklon the edge due to his superior jab and better conditioning, but a KO win for Peter isn't out of the question.

TUBBS VS CHAGAEV- Tough one to call. Ruslan has never been beaten nor had too many weaknesses exploited. He's also well proven against larger heavyweights and fights a south paw style that could pose as a problem for a lot of fighters. Tubbs is very talented though and when conditioned, is as good of a boxer as anyone. I'm picking this one to go to the scorecards, but its basically anybodies fight.

Can't argue with any of those. Prime vs prime Holmes vs Wlad would be close, but as you said, in 1985 Holmes lost quite a step. I would slightly favor Ruslan, but only the future can tell how good or bad he really is.
