May 24th: Hatton vs Witter?

Theres no question about it. The media would be behind it in a flash and they`d easily be in the region of around £15-20M that could be made from an all time British clash such as this. Mounting pressure may eventually force Hatton into a bout with Witter. Lets hope it happens as im pretty sure HBO and no real fan is interested in a bout with Lazcano.

 

well that's the thing what scurla and matt say is correct,this is actually a huge fight.hatton going on about witter not being a draw is obviously bollocks.to be fair any hatton fight in the uk is big but fighting his hated rival in a grudge match means the interest in europe would be huge,and there would be a good level of interest from true boxing fans stateside.where as hattons purse wouldn't be the mega size of the mayweather fight he would still make a huge amount as should witter,because at the end of the day he's a belt holder and if hatton is recognized as the linear champ then witter is certainly the legitimate no.1 contender.whichever way you look at it this fight should be made and soon,never mind easy warm ups after the mayweather defeat,why? it's not as though he took a prolonged and sustained beating off mayweather,hatton needs TO GET THIS FIGHT ON or risk losing credibility from the people who supported him,and i'm not talking about the "there's only one ricky hatton" saddo's but true fans.

Im a fan of both and looking at this on an even keel, the way im seeing it is complete excuses from hatton now, if you look back at quotes you can hear hatton come with the bull**** 'no belt' excuse, the lame payday excuse, and the 'he needs to fight someone credible 1st' excuse, ALL of which are now very very tired and more importantly exposed as bull****!

I really do think hatton doesnt fancy the fight, for whatever reasons, maybe the risk to reward isnt appealing , also in hatton announcing his next opponent, all credibility of his excuses above crumbles further, im far far less of a hatton fan now purely off the back of this.

Imo this fight wont happen, im saying hatton is done and will struggle through gift decisions next few fights.... while i think witter is on a high at the mo and may knock a few big names out this year, putting the final nail in the coffin to the fight. I see hatton having 3 more, ending on maybe de la hoya early next year, (and ko'ed by him lol)

 

Yeah witter deserves is shot and it hould have happened after the thaxton fight. But hatton has just lost to PBF, therefore he needs a confidece booster before the witter fight.:good

 

IMO this is all hype and the fight happens this year. Witter wants to be carefull what he wishes for. I think Hatton beat Witter how ****ing dumb will he look then.
