when did Carl slow down? probable in his fight with Ward unless you saw Froch recently slowing down; well, that actually means for you that Ward didn't prove too much by beating Froch... right? Quite a bit IMO
What if Bute KOs Froch under 6 rounds? Might that indicate that Bute's previous opponents weren't as bad as they're made out to be? Maybe it was Bute making them look bad. Maybe Magee was a better win than Abraham, as some of us have said all along. :hat
I would take Magee to easliy decision Abraham. Hell, if Dirrel had any faith in his punch resistance he coulda won a 12-0 shutout over Abe. Magee knows he can take a punch from the heaviest of hands. And as far as im concerned, Magee is of the slickest SMWs in todays division. Not the strongest or the fastest, but definitely a top 10 combination of both.:good
Fully expect to see a great clash of styles. But see Froch fighting from the outside & potshoting Bute with angles and the looping shots he throws. Grab on the inside and smother Bute's body work against the ropes.
I see Bute being able to win the war of the jabs. I think Carl could take the fight if he is able to establish the lead R early without being countered to the ribs. But that's an aweful big IF. Bute counters that punch masterfully, and his R hook is only now becoming an offensive weapon, whereas it used to be solely a defensive reset punch.:deal
Bute must be very, very confident of putting Froch to sleep, because the hometown judging is going to be terrible. Dirrell got robbed for sure, but after the Ward embarrassment, Bute will at best get cornholed and offered a bag of crisps for the flight back home.
Bute gained respect of a lot of people when he signed to fight Froch in England. I'm pretty sure that whatever the outcome he will make other fans when the fight is over.
