Call me a purist but Ive never been a big fan of the nitro format. Though there have been some great fights on them and I do appreciate that they are designed to woo the casual fan. Good to see Kickett on it, that adds quality to the overall card. Got mixed feelings about Brown Sugar fighting again, one of my favourites a few years ago but he looked way past it in his last fight. Just my opinion but I wouldnt mind seeing the main event on these cards as an 8 rounder, to sorta distinguish it as the main event.
Yeah i actually would have preferred Wills vs Vella to be 8 rounds too. I think the nitro format is good to have once or twice during the year just to break up the typical cards a little bit. The card is decent tho. A man to watch with the impressive amateur record is Michael Hatwell. A guy that can go places at Welterweight. Plus when u have names like Luxford, Kickett, Cronje the card is quite decent indeed.
Good card, pretty happy Kicket is bad,i thought we had lost our best hope a few months back. I hope the South African can get a win, like his style, and seams bloody tough. Main event, will look like a pub brawl.
War Willsy! Cant wait to see Cronje again, slick SOuthpaw style is a joy to watch on the Aussie HW scene
Willsy wins in another pub brawl war.:yep Cronje wants some of the bigger names in Australia, but u dont see them chasing him.
Fellas, I am curious, how do you rate Adam and Charlie on the world stage? I love the Aussie boxing scene because its all action, all our boxers are just tough competitors and the fights are exciting. Except this means that they are too open and if they fight good fighters in America and Europe, they would get smashed, just like Katsidis.
Sup Dimi Adam Willis and Charlie Vella have no place being considered on the world stage. They just are fun to watch because they have poor defence and slug it out. For fighters like these to get to a main event on aussie T.V, its comparable to Reggie Strickland headlining a PPV.
On the world stage u couldnt rate them in terms of skill, and saying that Katsidis got smashed in his last fight is fairly harsh considering he was winning the fight.
