Once Floyd and Pac retire, unless we build a new superstar, I think GERMANY will take over.. Berlin will become the new Las Vegas....

I'm a huge boxing fan and a big time Mayweather fan but I will have to respectfully disagree with this thread. Floyd Mayweather is not the end all be all of the sport of boxing. We shall see who generates as much interests as Floyd did. I truly hope he retires if not for 1 fight. He just made 32 million bucks. Sticking around is greed and it can end badly. I think Floyd's ultimate revenge for all of the hate he got from people like Skip Bayless, would be for him to retire without a loss and certainly without getting knocked out. I'd push for him to retire if I was in the position to do so. He has nothing left to prove and he doesn't want to be in bad shape when it's all said and done.

your kidding? No one fighter is the whole sport. floyd never took on all comers. Even when Hagler,Hearns,Leonard and Duran retired the sport continued. And those were real warriors.

    Hahahaha, kids...

Sport was going to die the five or so times Floyd already retired, and guess what, boxing was still doing good.

Haha, wtf? I'm sure for many of his fanboys it will signal the end of their world if he retires, as for the sport it's been around long before Floyd and will actually be better off without him (this counts for Pac aswell). Maybe Martinez will finally fight top middleweight contenders with a Mayweather fight out of the equation and other top fighters won't be killing fights (Khan-Bradley for example) waiting for a big payday. Anyway they said the same about DLH, he had a bigger impact in the sport than Floyd and for longer, and along came Mayweather and Pac to carry it as it's marquee fighters. Someone else will come along to carry it to the casuals

Boxing will go on. One star leaves and another will take the place.

This thread sounds like a cry for help. Capslock will die if he doesn't see Floyd.

This is highly speculative and I am thrilled with this month of May thus far to think about the sport dying. And it really pisses me off to say that Floyd is Boxing. Was SRL boxing and when he lost to Norris did the sport finished, was ODLH boxing and when he retired after facing Pac did the sport die, was Mike Tyson, Evander Holyfield, Riddick Bowe and Lennox Lewis the HWT Boxing and did it die? Needless to say what is going to happen unless there are fortune tellers here.
