It’s good that the GGG-Canelo farce has been put to bed. Nobody cares really if Golovkin is left to feast on Young Christopher’s leftover’s or some LMW. There is only one show in town on May 5, BELLEW v HAYE II. Literally nothing else matters. The first fight was like the gladiatorial battle between Maximus and Commodus and I predict the rematch will be shades of Spassky v Fischer Game 6 - a cagey tactical war that will be won emphatically by Haye’s sheer brilliance in the ring. Nobody puts on a PPV show like Matchroom and Eddie Hearn and it’s only right that the spotlight on May 5 is firmly on the great man Haye on what could sadly be his last night as a fighter inside that squared circle.
Nope, sorry, the date is circled on the calendar because of Wonjongkam vs. Kameda II and nothing else.
Pimp leftover at too high a weightclass Bellew vs retired/unretired/inactive Wlad leftover Haye II is the big fight in your opinion? I had already forgotten it was supposed to happen, with my only reminder being when it pops up on the Brit forum every now and then.
Let's hope Bellew finally ends the frauds career this time. Last time was a glorious epic humbling of princess.
I understand your view and I'm sorry if this comes out a bit harsh but.. This is what's wrong with boxing. That a boxers with a loss should be less relevant than an unbeaten. I'd rather watch this, Chisora-Whyte or any other domestic level grudge match than most of the recent years world title fights. But then again, maybe Hayes freakshow is the other side of all that's wrong with boxing.." I'll log of and think for a while...
Any more news on the undercard? Only 2 confirmed under card fights so far, although Joyce is sure to be on it against someone too.
I agree with that. But that's the same reason the op used about why this fight should be more relevant somehow, as Spike is a English Jr leftover. Hence my reaction. Chizzo vs Whyte II sure, as I actually scored it by a point for Chisora and Whyte is certainly relevant. Rematch is in order. Only place Haye is somewhat relevant in Britain I guess, among hardcore fans he's become a bit of a joke actually. exactly...
Looks like Chisora-Takam is a genuine possibility now. They need to sort it out soon though, there’s like five weeks left.
I thought Haye would have announced his withdrawal through injury by now - after tearing a muscle opening an Easter egg.
