We're talking about the 90's as of 1991, also they would never be #1 of the 90's with prime Lennox Lewis around, who stops both of them.

in 1991, Tyson looked very impressive with two excellent wins over Razor Ruddock, a solid contender of the era who gives either Klitschko an extrememly tough fight, he may even beat them. Boxing history was robbed of prime Tyson v prime Holyfield.

Bowe in 1991 and 1992 was phenomenal, and he really showed it against prime Holyfield. That Bowe, and that Holyfield would beat the brothers hands down. Holyfield had serious health problems when he fought Michael Moorer.

Foreman struggled in certain fights, however he was skilled, very durable and hit very hard. He stands a great chance against the Klitschko's, who aren't as good as you think, they've just been fortunate to beat in such a poor era.

If we move onto the late 90's, when Lennox came into his prime, the Klitschko brothers really wouldn't stand much of a chance. Before you bring up Mccall and Rahman and Golota, that's as valid a statement as me saying then why can't Ross Purrity, Corrie Sanders, Chris Byrd and Lamon Brewster be number 1 in the 90's?

    They are significantly better.

Mercer and Foreman would give Wlad hell. :yep Strong chins, big power, good jabs.
'Ol George would walk Wlad down, never give him a moment's rest. You ain't budging him, no way. He may be old and slow, but that punch is always there, and George was such a calm, poised fighter at this stage of his career. Nothing's going to phase him.

Mercer gave Lewis one of his toughest fights because Lewis hit him with big shots and nothing happened. Ray wasn't going anywhere, just like he won't if the brothers hit him. He had a very good jab and good power, and a great attitude.
Both he and Foreman are far more dangerous than anyone who has fought the brothers in title fights.

Lewis in '91 was green, but I'd pick him over Wlad even so. In a year, he'd wreck Ruddock in one of his best wins, don't forget. I'd pick him over Vitali too.

Fact is, all the guys I mentioned have good/great punching ability, mostly have great chins and can actually fight. Which is something the majority of Klitschko opponents don't have.

I´m not a native English speaker though, cut me some slack, mate. :thumbsup

You did see how a pre-prime Wlad butchered a past-prime Mercer? Mercer never would have stand a chance against Wlad. Old Foreman fought at such a slow pace that Wlad would always be comfortable with it. Sure, Big George would always be dangerous but that also fits Wlad´s cautious style. Wlad´s jab is quite a bit better, not to say he is bigger with a better reach than Foreman. If Morrison can survive Foreman and outpoint him, Wlad would do it much easier, probably stop the old man late.

Both faced a few fighters as or more dangerous than them IMO.

I wouldn´t Wlad´s cautious style, jab and size is something that Lewis wouldn´t be ready - yet. The Ruddock around back than was solid but got too power-happy ans smash-obsessed and threw most of his skills out of the window.

Well, that is not a fact. That´s your opinion. And quite frankly I think it´s not very valid.

Nah, English. Talk English much more than German nowadays. There are only a few German speakers at my work, I´ve got many friends here whose German is worse than my English so we speak English as well and I talk mostly English with my girlfriend - and slowly some very, very basic Russian.

Well, everybody speaks English, yeah. Most just some basic English though. It´s not common in most places but here in Berlin you don´t really need German to get around - makes it easier though, especially with the bureaucrats.

It's not like all those guys were prime in 1991. Holyfield and Tyson was still very good in 1991. Witherspoon and Williams were over the hill, Foreman was an old man. Lewis was a novice, as was Bowe to some extent, and Mercer, but they were up and coming fighters. I guess that's what the division is in need of now - up-and-comers.

The majority of that list possessed skills that have always given the two current dominant champions trouble. Offensive fighters.
