I am very confident in my prediction. I think the sky's the limit for May-Mosley, 2 million buys is a very real possibility, and it may very well exceed that comfortably. The hype right now is tremendous, but everyone will be talking about it in the days leading up to fight night. Expect a ton of commercials on your cable or satellite systems as May 1 approaches. This promotion is going all out.

On the other hand, as everyone has acknowledged, the promotion for Pac-Clottey has been weak. But there's really not a whole lot you can do with a fight that just isn't very intriguing to the masses. This will really be a test for Pac's drawing power. But even if it somehow cracks 1 million, which i don't think is very likely, I think that would only show that big boxing events are pretty healthy right now and it would mean May-Mosley would likely be that much bigger.

If it plays out as I suspect, 50/50 would be a joke should GBP and Arum ever sit down and negotiate again. It would have to be around 60/40 in May's favor, otherwise, Mayweather should just target someone like Berto for something like an 80/20 split.

No way I think both will have comparable buys with Mosley and Mayweather doing a little better. There is a lot of interest in Pac.

Pac - Mosley would outsell Clottey - Mayweather by over a million.

The PPV sales for these fights have no relevance to negotiations for a Mayweather - Pac fight.

This. Although I'm pretty sure it will figure into the negotiations, I really think it shouldn't because Mosley is so much more famous than Clottey...

If you think Pacquiao will accept anything less than 50/50 then you're an idiot.

Mayweather and Mosley are both draws. Pacquiao alone is probably a bigger draw than Mayweather alone, but Clottey can't draw flies to ****.

Has nothing to do with the purse split. I think if Pac doesnt sell well this weekend and Mayweather does, it will be more favorably to making the fight happen. I think if both fights do comparable numbers, than its less likely we will ever see them fight. Arum just doesnt want to work with Mayweather or put his fighter in with someone he doesnt control.

    You are underestimating the villain.

Floyd is a draw. Plus, he is currently working with a company who knows how to promote. People are going to tune in to finally see him get KTFO. Whether it happens or not is another issue, but that's what they're tuning in to see.

I think it wil be 2.5M to .8M

Floyd Shane will far outdo Pac-Cotto. And Cotto and Shane are probably an equal draw, possibly Cotto being slightly bigger.

Exactly! even though I like Clottey, you can't ignore the fact that 2 stars are better than 1. Mayweather's gay ass will probably talk about how he outsold Pac. but really Mosley outsold Clottey!............think about it.:hat

As far as negotiating leverage for a future May/Pac fight, the proper comparison is Pac/Cotto since it can be argued that Cotto was/is a bigger draw than Mosley.

Agree with Oden about the 1MM differential. I'm thinking Pac/Clottey will do around a million with May/Mosley around two.

Shane Mosley is a great fighter but he is not a draw, never has been.

Mayweather-Mosley should definitely outsell the Pacquaio-Clottey fight. Even during the week of the Pac fight there is just as much talk about the Mayweather-Mosley fight as there is Pac's. Mayweather and Mosley are both names and both Americans. Pacquaio is the only draw in his fight and Clottey is foreign who noone other than boxing fans know. I don't know if the Mayweather-Mosley fight will sell two million and I don't think it beats Pac by a million buys but it will sell more and sell a lot.
