I predict that the rematch will be different and will much more competitive and exactly what boxing fans wanted to see in the first fight, minus the Pac win.
In the rematch both fighters will be coming off long lay-offs, fully refreshed, fully healed, but older, with rust from sitting on the shelf.
Both will be fighting for money and legacy since both will be at the end of their careers. Each will be looking to make an career ending statement.

The fight will sell due to the marketing brilliance of Al Haymon due to the timing and the promotional campaign he'll deploy.
I wouldn't be surprised if Arum is locked out and unintentionally gives the fight even more promotion by bad mouthing it as he has done numerous times in the past.

The only real question is what kind of revenue the rematch will generate; $300M, $500M, $800M?
No matter how much, it'll be enough to make Klitscho, Canelo, ODLG, Golovkin, green with envy, and make Mayweather haters hate him even more for decades.

It could generate the most money for a rematch in the history of the sport, but it definitely wouldn't be the greatest fight in history. I think people would just be happy with a more competitive rematch and a little more action.

For it to materialize, it would require Manny having a dominant return against a top tier guy. I could understand Manny wanting to do a rematch to try and get another 50 million out of the mega event, but I think he'd do worse in a rematch against someone as cerebral as Mayweather. FLoyd's also bigger than him, and surprisingly he's quicker than him at this age.

The only incentive for Floyd would be to get another big payday, but I think he could make similar money if he ended up fighting the winner of Cotto and Alvarez for May 2016. That fight would also carry historical significance given it would be for the lineal MW championship which would give Mayweather a record 5 lineal championships (or 3 of the originals which is an incredible achievement in itself.)

I didn't think it was a good performance by Mayweather either but I still had him winning 9-3. He looked tentative in the ring, and I attribute that mainly to him not wanting to make any mistakes in a fight of that magnitude.

Floyd would be the sharper guy going into the rematch given he's been more active a fighter than Manny for the past couple years really. He also looks exponentially better in rematches (granted he's only had a few but it's still significant when factoring in his ring intelligence against a style he's already seen.)

I thought it was a clear cut victory the first time around, but I'd expect a masterclass by Floyd in a second go around.

Same performance in nearly every fight. To expect anything different is what's pathetic. It's up to the opponent to make him abandon a strategy he can't seem to lose with. And Pac wasn't/isn't the one.

No, they shouldn't fight again because the fight was nowhere near close to warrant a rematch.

And **** no the winner, even if they ever do fight doesn't need to fight Khan. He hasn't done jack**** in welter to gain that shot. Why don't he settle his score with Garcia or duke it out first with Thurman or Brook?

Modern marketing states that the price is set at the level the market will bear.

By the time of the rematch Boxing wizard Al Haymon will have made boxing more mainstream in the US market.
For the 1st fight the market responded with a revenue intake of over $500M.
By the time the rematch occurs PBC branding will be greater and I expect the market to respond with an increased revenue generation of over $800M.

What a great occasion for boxing!

    Let's get ready to Rumble..:happy:happy:happy

    Greatest fight ever?? Yeah right.

As for May/Pac II, If it's a free fight sure then have a rematch. But I wouldn't pay to watch them fight each other again and I'm a Manny fan.

Their first bout with an appalling waste of time and a joke.

Floyd's money is multiplying faster than he can spend it.
