I do not hate the idea of a Mayweather-Pacquaio rematch. Obviously it is still one of the two or three biggest matches that can be made in boxing. However, I am strongly against Pacquiao getting Mayweather in his next fight directly after the boring loss.

I have heard rumors of proposed matches between Pacquaio and Kell Brook in December or Lucas Matthysse in January/February 2016.

If May/Pac want to maximize revenue and build genuine excitement for a rematch, it is essential that Pac takes and wins one of those fights.

Manny would be a tight favorite, or very possibly an underdog, in both of those fights. I don't think anyone disputes that Pacquiao would have a good case for a rematch if he beat either Brook or Matthysse.

when is he going to have time to get a fight in? We were told what a horrific injury it was and he is only going to have time to rehab the shoulder and then train for a May 2016 fight. Floyd isn't going to hang around past that to fight him again.

Out 9-12 months, supposedly, so I just don't see the time line adding up despite agreeing with you (Matthysse, eh, top 10 WW would be better).

I would happily watch a re-match. Dates, times, injuries and imminent retirements lead me to believe this fight wouldnt happen though. And on top of that i saw in 1 round that Pacman does not have what it takes to beat Floyd. Styles defnatly do make fights and Floyds style is so bad for Manny.

Not really he just needs to be shown to have no injury really.

I would watch the rematch also. Think floyd fights canelo or cotto again next and PAC again next May.

He's definitely fighting a solid opponent late this year. Arum knows that a rematch will generate far too much money and will most likely aim for it. Though he's definitely having Pacquiao fight someone solid in his stable first. Whatever the result is to that, Arum wins in the long run.

This post isn't about "revealing the Evil side of Arum!!!", it's basically about reality and it's only fair to do that for Arum to secure his business. Us fans win in return by watching Pacquiao fight someone good and hopefully a Mayweather rematch in 2015 if both Pacquiao and Mayweather win and look good doing so.

The last thing I heard on the web was 4 to 6 months. I don't know how accurate any of the timelines are.

    It's NOT interesting.
Manny is already LEGIT past prime. I want him to just retire. If he gets a rematch, he better go for the KO. No trying to outbox Mayweather in a pure boxing match.

    Well he's not so....

These guys aren't going to get any better than they already are. They're not going to learn anything new than maybe some adjustments they'll make for each other in the next fight.

There won't be a tune up fight for Pac, and hell, Floyd might skip his September fight. Mayweather will probably like it better if Manny fights him fresh off rehabilitation anyways.

I'm not too worried. They've both shown to be able to come back off a year break and look great. In fact, two of their best performances were when they did come off a year long break. Maybe it's better for the body.

(Because there isn't a real injury to have a real timeline, but shhhh! Let the Pacquiao fans have there moment.)

Pac should fight Brook and Lucas while Floyd fights Khan lol. Put Floyd against Thurman then.

I truly doubt he'll retire. Too much money involved to not take it.

'Lost a lost of respect' for Pacquiao? When has he ever had respect for anyone? :rofl

    He'll be back...
