May/Pac in 2009 would have resembled Roy/Griffin 2, with Floyd being Roy.

Regardless who you'd pick for May/Pac in 2009, it is a shame from both fighter's point of view that it didn't happen.

Mayweather's win over Pac is nowhere as good as it would have been had he won in 2009, when Pac was considered the favourite by some / close to even odds, and Pac hadn't yet been KO'ed by Marquez. It's still a very good win of course, but not as good for his legacy as it could have been in 2009.

Pacquaio clearly declined from 2009 to 2015, and he surely would have preferred to have his biggest fight at his peak, not 6 years after.

Both May and Pac are very talented which was why they were still at the top at their respective ages, but it is undeniable that both were clearly past their peak. We boxing fans lost out here.
