The two biggest fights in the sport are failing to come off, the damage this is causing the sport is unreal. Im now starting to believe that boxing is a dying sport that is just focusing on **** fights for big money, trying to fool the fans.

I usually hate doom and gloom but I'm starting to feel the same way. And don't give me the "but there are other fights", sure, but when the top two most important fights that can be made aren't happening, you have to admit that it's pretty depressing.

i agree with you. These two fights are so big and are causing a ridiculous amount of damage.

This is the problem with boxing, too many people wanting to make stupid amounts of money. Bob Arum and golden boy are the worst for this.

But we have people like Haye and Wlad, but mostly Pacman and Floyd who have earned a sensational amount of money but they still want more and there having petty aguments over this stuff. You have millions, you dont need more, just fight and give something back to the fans who are the reason you have so much money and fame in the first place.

Stupid tv companies making stupid fights for big ££ and leaving the smaller fighters out on there arses. Just look how sky help lose the haye wlad fight and how hbo have treated martinez. What a JOKE.

    Exactly right dude

We as boxing fans are being cheated out of the best fights and boxing is now a dying sport

MMA will soon take over because the best fight the best. Thats all I want in boxing but it will never happen due to so many factors outside fans interest

Once Mayweather retires for good, along with Pacquiao, Klitchkos, Haye boxing is done for

Yeah Khan is exciting and Alexander v Bradley might be interesting but no characters will be left in boxing.

All our favourites will be gone and Im telling you now, whoever takes over from Haye and the Klitchkos will be THE worst heavyweight champion EVER

Tyson Fury, you're awful but you're gonna have no opposition in front of you for many years

Boxing is dying, enjoy it while it lasts

Yep, boxing is flawed fundementally in the way it operates. Too many people looking out for their own self interests and the sport is slowly being killed because of it, after years in the wilderness boxing finally had two big fights on the horizon that could have kick started the revival big time, generating enormous interest all over the world, and ending with a recognisable unified heavyweight champion and a definitive "best fighter of the era" in Pac or Mayweather. But boxing has shot itself in the foot yet again. Read someone say this in another thread recently and they were right, boxing needs a system like the UFC where there is a body that can force fights to happen.

Money talks, thats the biggest problem. Belts have no prestege anymore, everyone goes after the money from the start.

But sanctioning bodies are to blame as well because they keep making new titles. Regular, super, inter continental, internatinal, interim, diamond and silver. Then you have mayweather who doesnt want titles he just wants money which is a terrible influence on the sport.

Yes boxing is dying but the big problems are so simple to fix. It just takes somebody with a little bit of bottle to do the right thing and not be influenced by money. At the end of the day if you are as good as you think you are then you will earn a lot if money throughout a long and great carreer and theres no need to go for a massive payday straight away.

Sorry thats my second rant on this page but it just pisses me off so much.

Agreed. Two fights that needed to happen look like they are dead in the water, paticularly Pac - Mayweather.
