I'm curious to see what happens if this fight tanks at the box office and on ppv. Considering the backlash from the Pacquiao fight that is very possible. Suppose the ppv's are less than 500K or something like that. Will the networks continue to throw money at Floyd? I don't buy that last fight thing for one second, that is just a storyline to get people to buy the fight. After this he is a free agent and I'm sure he will be right on the phone with Manny trying to arrange another fight. How can he turn down that kind of money?

I just don't see it happening. Too many negative factors to hurt this fight.
    - no sufficient enough time to promote
    - people still very ****ed about may/pac (no action, expensive)
    - it's 75$
    - opponent is no name
    - negative media suffocating this fight & Berto

    All of this spells disaster.

People don't pay to watch big action anyways when it comes to Mayweather, so I don't see that being a negative.

It's always been $75 anyways, and people historically still paid.

Berto is just as big of a name as Ortiz/Guerrero/Maidana were, not big names at all. It's going to be May carrying the card, and maybe Groves with the British fanbase.

Once the No Access episodes starts coming out, I see people wanting to see it. Berto has a great story, is a philanthropist and is a pretty big name in Haiti and his hometown.

It'll do alright, 1m is easy imo.

Spot on 100% this is a friendly fight, no needle, no one expects Berto to do anything, isnt Floyds last fight. This I reckon will be just as poor in numbers as it is in the ring.

Ill record the fight and watch it when i get the chance not even worth staying up for in the UK

You'll definitely stay up, you won't be able to sleep.

People before the fight, "we ain't gonna watch it."

But when fight night comes, they're the first ones with the remote ordering. :rofl

Yup your right people pay to see him lose no-one expects him to lose this one so a very large audience could be uninterested. Berto isnt anywer near a big name as Maidana or Guererro at least in europe anyway. Groves numbers in the UK in his last two fights have been very underwhelming. I also didnt hear a single person request that this fight is made before hand not a single fan or pro and people were very suprised and annoyed and in disbelief when the rumours came out it was Berto

The media and audience collectively condemned the Pac fight as phoop, and complained about being snookered.

That fight actually hurts more than it helps Floyd's chances at selling this fight.

As much as I hate to say this, you'll be surprised how much this fight is going to make. The publicity the Mayweather vs Pacquiao fight brought is like nothing the sport has ever seen. Mayweather could fight you or I next and he's still selling big. I'll be genuinely shocked if this fight makes anything less than 1 million in PPV buys.

You speak as if they haven't done this before.

The media have been criticizing him for his lifestyle and his fighting style for years now!!!

When is the last time they spoke highly of his fight (Aesthetically-pleasing wise)? :think

He was bashed non-stop following Maidana 2, who cares about the media? :yep

More intriguingly are there people who genuinely believe this will be his last fight? That he is going to retire on 49-0?

I'm assuming this won't be PPV over here in UK, I wouldn't pay for it if it was. Definitely stay up to watch it though. Regularly stay up watching considerably less interesting fights!
