Article over at the scene... Apparently 10th largest gate on Nevada history. This fight did well for boxing. Plus it was nice that Khans fight was free on ITV (terrestial tv) last night! Boxing could be making a big come back with some great up and coming boxers, and some good depth in multiple divisions. We just need a decent heavy weight division now!
Boxing is huge. Even a guy like Bute makes more money per fight than MMA guys could ever dream of. Not everyone is making Mayweather and PAcquiao money but there's alot of guys who are making alot of money. High 6 or low 7 figure paydays are not uncommon for top fighters. Khan made like a million against Maliggnaggi apparently. And I think Malignaggi made something like 400K
I just want to see boxing return to the glory days, great fights less controversy! This year has been real good so far, with so many good match ups to look forward too.
