Discuss. 25-0 in world title fights 48-0 5 weight world champion The Best Ever in terms of ABILITY, not legacy. Beat many future hofs/atgs. 5 time lineal champion Simultaneous lineal champ in 2 divisions (147, 154) I see May entering the ranks of possibly a Joe Louis, Ali, etc. Around 6-8
No, on ability, as long as the memory of Sugar Ray Robinson exists. When Mayweather can be quick like SRR and knock people out with both hands, then he can be considered "TBE". And, "many future hofs/atgs"?
boxing_master and MVC making equally as re****ed threads at roughly the same time.... im a libran, im a firm believer in balance and this pleases me
His ranking won't be any different. He never beat any top fighter in their primes and he's never really given a historic performance against any top fighter. He was illegally overweight against Marquez, he made Hatton move up in weight, Mosley was 40, and even his victory against Oscar is highly debatable. Floyd is in the top 80 of all times, but never as good as the true greats.
I can agree with what you say in terms of ability. I don't think that can be argued with any degree of resistance. Insanely skilled boxer and defensive technician...but ranked ahead of the Fab 4? That's a tall order...and I know he can only beat who's in front of him but he never fought the likes of a Duran, Leonard, Hearns or Hagler. (I actually think he beats Duran...check my location, too). Pac is going to be the closest to that level of fighter that can compare to that era's monsters and I hope he beats the breaks off of Pacman. He's definitely one of the best the game has ever seen but bruh...
