lmfao...dont buy into the hype...floyd just showed versatility..he boxed off his front foot in the shane fight...watch the zab fight and he does that as well....

dont trip..floyd can still box off his back foot...(run)

could care less what roach says when it comes to skills...as long as he keeps his big mouth shut and stays out of negotiations cuz he is always lying about what team pac will accept

No, but Froach is actually wrong, there is no way Floyds legs are gone, nothing what so ever suggests that they are.

Im rewatching the fight for the 3rd time and Floyd isn't as fast as he used to be obviously because of age but it's a slight decline. He's still fast and showed great defensive footwork against Shane while still staying in the pocket most of the fight feinting, using the high guard, and picking Shane off with right hands and some jabs.

You can't take punches like the ones Mosley landed, and have bad legs, anybody else would of done the Zab Judah chicken dance. And if he didn't have good legs who would of been woubling and holding on in the beginning of round 2, makes me think Roach has lost it with his predictions.

His legs are fine. Roach just always looks for weaknesses, now he feels he has one, good luck with that if the fight happens.

I don't think Mayweather has lost his legs, but on the other hand I haven't seen him really use them in a long time.

The last time that I can remember Floyd using continuous movement for 12 rounds was Castillo II.* Since then most of his fights have been with him staying in the pocket, just inside or outside of arm's reach, countering his opponent, moving to reset, and then doing it all over again.

*Note: I missed some of Floyd's fights afterward, and have seen only highlights of one or two, so take that with a grain of salt.

    A grain huh?

Damn so Floyds legs been gone since 2002, They would have made him 25.
Floyd had to move against Hatton, and the last time he really moved for 12 rounds straight was the Baldomir fight.

I would disagree about Hatton. Maybe in the very early stages, but most of what I remember from the fight is Floyd staying at arm's length, leading Hatton into traps, then stepping just far enough away to do it again.

He was not keeping the sort of distance or movement that a jab and mover would. He was purposely staying close enough to tempt Hatton into punching so Floyd could counter, even though Floyd could have run rings around HAtton.

He moved alot in certain rounds. he was on the back foot all night hence the check hook finish, But we can agree to disagree kind sir. Also Hatton's footspeed coming forward was very good.

Indeed. And it's been awhile since I've seen that fight, so while I usually feel comfortable relying on my memory, it's easy to only remember certain aspects of a fight or to miss things when it's been awhile.

At the start, I would certainly agree with you. I remember Hatton coming out very hard at the bell. But after awhile Floyd's counters succeeded in doing something which Floyd relies on: making his opponents tentative. At somewhere around round 4 or 5, I remember seeing Floyd had become totally comfortable standing in front of Hatton to lay traps for him, and at that point I knew the fight was over. From that point onward Floyd only moved after nailing Hatton with a shot, or if he didn't think he could counter Hatton while Hatton was coming towards him. Then he would take a step or two out of the way and reset to do it again.

Hell, everyone knows about the check hook finish, but I think I remember seeing Floyd set up in that same corner and catching Hatton coming in at least 3 separate times. Floyd could only do that by being comfortable in front of Ricky and staying in one place long enough to make Hatton think he could succeed with getting off a shot.

Yes very true. 5 rounds hatton put on a lot of pressure. Floyd started to take over mid-rounds. I remember that one round prior to the finish Floyd moved a lot and started using his jab. As you said time passes and memeory fades. We pretty much agree on most though, so...

If Roach is so smart figuring out fighters, he would know Mayweather use what he needs in a fight. Didn't have to use his foot work much cause Mosley was in front of him the whole fight, and couldn't land much :nut
