Maybe Haye Should Avoid the Klitschko Bros...But He Should Fight Someone Real

Watching highlights from the Ruiz fight and the after-interview (shown below)
    http://www.skysports.com/haye/story/0,27000,18287_6073711,00.html

What I come away with is Haye is an impressive charismatic personality. I like his personality...not necessarily as much as the Klitschko Bros...but what goes without saying is having this guy around is good for the division. He's charismatic, intelligent, good-looking...very marketable.

So maybe he should avoid the Klitschkos because he doesn't stand a chance.

But what he should do is build-up for the eventual fight by taking some big-cash fights against some real contenders, where he could earn some cash and earn some respect.

In the video he claims Chambers and Arreola were 2nd-rate opposition because they came in to their title shots out of shape...why not take one of them on? A fight against either would sell very well in the USA and on HBO. Chambers and Arreola are, like Haye, very marketable personalities. Cable networks could build up the fight with a war of words etc. and bill it as a prelude to an eventual clash with Wladmir. For myself, I don't believe that Haye would have an easy time with either of these guys...as both are hella hard to knock out.

It would also be very interesting if Haye could take on Adamek. If he could beat Adamek then he deserves to be called the #3 heavyweight and he deserves his WBA title.

All 3 of the above guys are approximately the same age as Haye and all are legitimate Top 10 guys.

If none of the above fights could be made...how about David Tua? Yes, another contender pushing 40....but not a push-over.

So what I'm saying is....maybe the Heavyweight division doesn't need to get rid of Haye...maybe keep him around as long as is feasible. But pair him up against an opponent that stands a chance!

So, far he is a bust as a heavyweight. He hasn't beaten a legit heavyweight, yet.

Slowly but painfully it becomes obvious that Haye is a scammer at HW. A fraud. He lied to get a fight and now is playing the entire HW division with his delay and avoidance tactics.

I trained at the same gym "Third Space" in London, i remember him bad mouthing about Carl Thompson before there fight, he was stopped by CT and i laughed my ass off!!!

I think Vladimir would beat him, but i would also love to see him fight Povetkin were he would get a beating, Boystov stands a very good chance, Chagaev is a 50 / 50 fight.....David stop all the BS fight a real hevyweight prospect!!

I don't disagree that Haye went too far being so vocal about wanting to fight the Klitschkos.

What I'm saying is the guy is
    1) Charismatic
    2) Good looking
    3) consequently makes for great tv/copy

If he goes for Audley, who is rated 44th on Boxingrec, then the chorus of naysaying after the likely ass-kicking will be so loud that he will have no choice but to fight a Klitschko in his next fight. But if he can get a real win against a real contender this Fall (ie an Adamek or Chambers or Tua), then maybe he can wait another year and by that time Haye vrs. Wladmir might be a more even contest... Maybe Vitali will retire and Haye could try for another belt before taking on Wladmir

Point is that if he fights Wladmir now, then he'll likely be stomped. Then he'll have to work his way back up, but without the benefit of free media exposure.

What you're saying would make sense if Haye hadn't talked a lot of **** about the Klitschkos. As it is you can't discuss one of them here without mentioning the other, Povetkin doesn't have that problem. As long as Klitschko-Haye doesn't happen whatever fight they do have loses credibility and harms boxing

Haye v Povetkin would be good.

Part of the trouble with Haye is that he hasn't really fought very much of late.

Haye is a mystery to me. He hits very hard and has quick feet and seems to have gotten over his stamina flaw.

His foot work can use work, his D needs work, gets very over anxious and over excited making him an awful finisher. He needs to fine tune before getting in the ring with either the bros

He should fight Peter Chag-Meehan Winner Valuev againm but try for the KO maybe Povetkin or Chambers he needs to fight atleast 2 or 3 fights hone what he has and work on what he doesnt

I wouldn't call him a pathetic boxer as such. I actually think he is fairly skillful. However, he should back his words up and fight the fights he is apparently craving... No excuses this time.

Oh, apparently somebody never saw...THIS FIGHT:

...Yeah, I think somebody owes Mr. Valuev a big apology and that certain someone needs to reevaluate their notions about HW history and who the real GOAT is.
