Their rematch made my top 5 worst matches ever watched. One of the few times in boxing history where they were unable to give away tickets to passerbys. Hop truly lives in his own world if he thinks there's more than 150 people that want to see a trilogy from 104 years of age combined.
How did Roy screw Hopkins out of anything? Hopkins wanted 50/50 despite fighting for Roy's Light Heavyweight belt, Roy being the bigger name and draw and also already having a W over Hopkins. 60/40 was more than reasonable. The fact that you think Roy ducked Hopkins is laughable, what reasoning do you base this off of?
This content is protected I predict ticket sales ( 75-220 tickets sold--- 500 given away) If it's PPV? $39.99 will get about 14,000 buys. What world are these guys living in?
Yeah but he is the top of boxing now. People pay to see a fighter at the top of his game, and he is at the top of his game right now. He is like Hagler and Hearns in 1985. Ali and Frazier in 1971. What should have been Floyd and Manny in 2009. I don't see how Hopkins fighting Jones right now proves anything at all. Whoever wins was the guy who declined less than the other guy. Chances are Jones would lose because his punch resistance is so low after all of those knockouts. Yet I rank Jones over Hopkins in the all time rating. Jones at his peak was better than Hopkins at his peak. And then what if they have the fight and other guys want to rematch? Evander vs. Bowe now? What about Hearns vs. Duran 2 in 2020? There has to be limits. These guys cannot really fight anymore at that top level. If they put on a bad show people will laugh at boxing and MMA and UFC or whatever the option is will look very good in comparison.
Nobody wanted to see Hopkins fight in his prime. Why would he think anybody would want to watch this farce?
