Bernard Hopkins looked like a frail old man in his last fight...and he's not getting younger. Any commission that lets him fight again should be condemned. Roy Jones is a shell of his former self as well...but he's got a lot more left than Hopkins and stops him badly.
Yeah...this is another fight nobody asked for. I guess these guys still think they can make a little money out of this. I can see these guys in another ten years promoting a bout where they aggressively ram their wheelchairs into each other. Nothing would change. Jones would be quicker and more nimble in his chair. Hopkins would employ every dirty tactic possible, puncturing Jones's tires before taking him out. We wouldn't really be sure if Hopkins knocked out Jones or if Jones just dozed off.
RJJ was a beast that night. Hopkins was lucky to get that decision. Weeks could have ruled that Hops was knocked down several times but he didn't, instead Weeks called Timeout and gave Hops all day to recover. And he even deducted a point from RJJ for simply throwing a punch when Hops charged at him, that wasn't even a foul yet RJJ got deducted a point while he ignored Hops low blowing, rabbit punching him and the ridiculous headbutt in the 11th round. Bhops could have been counted out or had points deducted. But Weeks saved him, that's the only way Hops won that fight. That was the best version of RJJ since the Tarver losses. He surprised a lot of people that night by impressing vs Hopkins. Hopkins was supposed to embarrass Roy but it didn't happen, instead he embarrassed himself by bad fouling and carrying on like a diva when Roy retaliated (and hurt him!). It's a travesty that BHop won that decision. He didn't deserve to win the rematch, Roy did.
