all meaningful shots were landed by Canelo and he exuded generalship the whole fight. a REAL robbery would have been if Trout won. I compare this fight to Broner-Malignaggi, If you had trout winning then you surely must have malignaggi winning or close to it.

Trout lost no DOUBT, but it was not a blowout. It was a close fight that was screwed up by open scoring.

I just couldn't understand all the folks saying that Trout won.

Trout was whooped. He landed almost nothing of note and made Alvarez look slick as hell. Slap punches and grazing shots should not win you a fight unless the other guy lands even less then that.

"Close but clear" for me. The knockdown was the icing on the cake.

I laugh at those who had Canelo-Trout for Trout but Malignaggi-Broner wide for Broner. Trout was slapping at Canelo with shots that barely glanced him. Canelo landed harder AND scored a KD despite being slightly outworked.

I had Canelo clearly winning. It was competitive because Trout was throwing so much more but many of his shots were just jabs and were being caught on Canelo's gloves. Canelo was landing the harder cleaner shots. I didn't get the controversy, it seemed to me that Canelo fought down to his opponents level for most of the fight but when he stepped on the gas he was on another level and he always seemed in control.

trout outlanded canelito by twice as many punches in five of the twelve rounds.

trout out threw canelito(within 3 or four punches) by twice as many punches in seven of the twelve rounds.

with these tangible and factual numbers shows you how clueless this thread is.

to think that the fight was not close just shows how moronic the esb forums can be at times.

without the knockdown(10-8 round) trout has a good case that he was robbed.

so a knockdown is the difference between a possible case of robbery and a clear-cut decision for canelito?

all the showtime commmentators had this fight within one or two points which is how most logical people not suffereing from pink co-ck syndrome scored it.

How can Canelo win wide when he only fought every other round

Canelos inactivity was a big factor here. He took a lot of rounds off. It was a close fight. Canelo obviously the better fighter (which surprises me til this day), but Austin trout the harder worker in there. All i know is canelo better work on that stamina if he plans on having a chance against may.

I have watched the Canelo/Trout fight several times and to me Canelo boxed beautifully with the tall busy rangey southpaw.

the only rounds that were close were the three or so that Canelo took off

    Canelo easily won the fight

those scorers are black, and a recent poll showed that both whites and blacks acknowledged that blacks are the most racist people in the U.S.

There is ZERO comparison between the two fights, as someone who had Broner winning big and Canelo winning VERY close. Trout landed 30 more then Canelo did, Broner landed 32 more then Malignaggi. Not to mention Canelo was only able to land at a 29% rate, compared to 47% for Broner. Canelo beat Trout in power punch stats 96-95, Broner beat Malignaggi 214-94. Again, to say Austin Trout got his ass whooped as badly as Malignaggi did is completely untrue. That fight wasn't competitive, this one CLEARLY was, and the OP wasn't watching it close enough.
