honestly, i hate Floyd...but i dont think Margarito would pose much of a threat to Floyd, i never got why he ducked him...maybe i'm overestimating his ability to defend, run, and pot shot

When someone corners you by being your mandatory or anything related to actual ratings and you refuse to fight them, then sure you ducked them. Matter of fact, there was a lineal champion in the division and his name wasn't Antonio Margarito, in addition that same lineal champion and official #1 offered the same exact amount Margarito's team offered. Margarito was an unknown back then who's record was so horrible he had to rely on "most feared man" complete bull**** theories to gain attraction and guess what?, it easily worked as it did for Vivian Harris.

Another definition of ducking. Being offered a career high payday with no other fight coming even CLOSE to that offer against someone that already beat you and you turn it down is BEYOND ducking.

 

you seem to believe all the propaganda the sanctioning bodies put out about their champs in order to legitimize their belt. fact is floyd fought a lot of champs when there was someone universally believed to be better at the same weight. if floyd is your man then i dont expect you to see his carreer in the same light as i do and that is ok. but to even suggest that floyd fought the best at their best in every weight hes fought at is downright ridiculous.

 

Don't expect his many ******ed fans to understand.

When they find Margarito's "Please wait senior!" excuse to ducking a career high payday(with no offer against anyone else in the division coming even close to it) in fighting a man that already beat him a good enough excuse then this one will be very very confusing.

Actually, 140 was the only division where Floyd didn't beat the universally recognized best fighter in the division. Hatton actually assumed that title after he beat Tszyu and then flat out said he wasn't ready to fight Mayweather. Chicanito was the best fighter at 130, as was Castillo at 135. 147 is a bit murky.

Judah is actually the undisputed champ when Mayweather entered that division and Mayweather had an agreement to fight Judah when Judah was still undisputed. Unfortunately, Judah lost to Baldo before the fight could happen. Many people then recognized either Baldo or Floyd as the top man in the divsion and Floyd went on to beat Baldo. Margo was never seen as the best in the division until he beat Cotto.

At 154, most considered Oscar the top fighter when Floyd fought him. Others said Spinks was the man to beat.

 

Margo and Casa are the only names that you can make a legit case that Floyd avoided them.
