I thought Mosely fought a great fight against Margarito. He was willing to clinch and hold to stop Margarito from getting his turn to throw. It was the same thing the entire fight with Mosely getting off first with one or two punches and then either getting the hell away from Margarito or more frequently grabbing and clinching till the referee made them reset. Margarito ate a steady stream of punishment and never got his turn to reply in kind. I think Cotto could have easily beaten Margarito if he'd used a similar strategy but Cotto does not like to clinch much it seems. Margarito will happily eat a punch if he can land one himself. Against Cotto he could eat two or three if he could land one or two. Against Mosely he almost never got his turn.
Nah Margacheato was never **** to begin with, he went up to 154 and got his ass kicked by Santos, than he beat a bunch of C and D-class fighters, and that POS Arum, tried to bill him as the "most feared man in boxing" when he was really hiding all his guys from PW.
Heck, if he would have fought smart it wouldn't have never come to fighting brave or scared. Freaking clinch him!
:rofl Go watch the early rounds of the fight, Cotto was clearly outclassing him but instead of moving in circles and commiting to his punches he wasted energy running around the ring and slapping Margo. Mosley circled Margo, and didn't waste all his energy running, furthermore he commited to his punches and broke Margarito Down.
I'm interested in why you think Cotto didn't commit with his punches? Do you think he got a little too cute trying be a boxer? Or do you think he made a decision quickly he didn't want to exhange too much with Margarito?
I see your point! Another thing shane did to help him win was he held alot! And cotto didnt, cotto used more energy running around the ring! Shane hit margo with power shots then tied up!! That was the key
Tony claims he was weight-drained for the mosley fight, it is true he ballooned up in weight after the cotto fight...
Is it likely he would have been weight drained when he came in at weigh in, one and a quarter pounds under? :think Do people think he lost to Paul Williams despite having "cement" in his gloves? I wonder if after the Paul Williams loss his camp decided it was time to get industrial.
Good turn off moron. When we say cement it's understood he cheated w/ calcium & sulpher which over time hardens up and creates a cement-like boxing glove.
