He won back a version of the title in front of his home fans, for any fighter that would be a high point of a career.
Im thinking maybe he will feel enough is enough, that was a very hard fight and he has had a long career.Cut badly again which now seems to be a problem.
I think there is a chance Mikkel may retire!

Sure. Win back a world title and then drop out of S6 when your next fight
is against a clubfighter. Great logic. Now back to the yahoo chatrooms with you slug.

Have to agree with the other posters what is the point of retiring now. I agree he is declining but I think he has enough for Green and maybe Dirrell.

I think Kessler will at least finish the tournament. After that, it will be interesting to see how much longer he goes on.

No, not really. He's had a lot of wear and tear.

He just said in an interview that he is looking forward to getting back to the training and working further on all the things they have focused on. He feels he will improve a lot of the the following years.

Sounds like he is thinking about anything but returement for the next 5-6 years.

Also remember - he is younger than Froch and has been is fewer wars really - because he usually wins without a scratch.

Definately would not retire. He can still further his legacy and though he's not as technically proficient as he once was I felt he was mentally tougher in this fight than in any other fight he had been in. I think that's a step in the positive direction.

    Neither do I.

Anyways, Kessler is taking some real punishment in the Super Six. I have him 0-2 on my scorecards. His skin is getting paper-like, the book is open on him, and he isn't getting any younger. He wont be around for too much longer.
