Man his dude Dulorme held the entire fight. Not only was he holding, he was man-hugging him the entire fight. The ref didnt take one point way from Dulorme.

    I don't understand, isn't holding illegal?

That's boxing. It's not like Mayfield was really throwing punches when he was free to throw them.

Even if he didn't hold Mayfield would've just smothered himself

    Mayfield wasn't trying to fight.

He was trying to hold that dude in a corner.

Wouldn't want to watch a fight with either of them.

One guy is lunge and throw one punch. The other guy, straight up and down...low ceiling.

Im just saying there is a big difference between holding and tying a fighter up. Dude held the entire fight.

My question is, isnt it illegal to hold?

I mean holding is seriously ****ing boxing up! B. Hop is a master at holding but he tie his opponents up, then you got people like the Bitchko Brothers that use holding a part of their punching combinations. If the ref would of done his job tonight, That fight would of been totally different.

Dulorme won clearly, Mayfield just stood at distance thats not good for him and pretty much did nothing, he won rounds when he pressed action but didnt do it enough.

Well at least they build up a solid opponent for one of the more appropriate fighters in the rankings.

Dulorme would be a solid win for all the good fighters, but clearly doesn't have the star potential. Might even be able to weed out some of the weaker up and comers in the mean time.

Thing I hate about certain fighters that abuse holding, is a lot of the time it's an outer boxer who is clearly the better fighter on the outside who holds his opponent every time they try to get on the inside.

The inside fighter has no equivalent to holding that they can use to stop an outside fighter from doing their best work.

The way Smoger handled the low blows was worse. It looked like Mayfield was on his way to at least catching up to a draw, especially if a point had been deducted.

I didn't like that fight. Tying up a fighter to break his rhythm or get your head straight from being buzzed is one thing but just holding because you don't have an inside game is unforgivable. All fighters should have an inside and outside game. I blame that **** on his trainer. Actually Dulorme shouldn't even be at 140. He's 5'10" with a big ass frame. He can easily fight at 154. 140 for him is a ***** move.
