Well if you are undefeated after a long career and rarely even tested what can you say. "Floyd do you think you are the greatest?" No, i think Ali is better than me, i think Robinson is better than me, in fact there are a lot of guys better than me....I just dont think if you're in his position you can say that. After watching Robinson go life and death with the likes of La motta (strong fighter, but easily outskilled by mayweather) and seeing Ali do the same with lesser fighters it is hard to say they are better. Also, i know there are those who will say Mayweather has never fought anyone like la motta, foreman, etc, and this may be true. However, do you think he could admit this. It is hard even for me to look back on the old time fighters (limited footage, bad camera angles, etc.) and declare them to measure up to today's standards. Its not necessarily that he has fought the best, that is open to interpretation and opinion, its that everyone that has been put in front of him has been defeated so easily. I dont know if there is a fighter in history that defeated everyone with such ease with the exception of maybe Roy Jones, and most would agree that Floyd's resume>Roy. So he says im the greatest. Does he believe it? Maybe. Is it relevant? No, its just what he has to say

Are you saying that people who thinks otherwise are all haters?

    Read this again:

Fight . . . vacation . . . tune up fight . . . vacation and he is greater than this guy? How does that makes sense?

Is Floyd the greatest. According to resume. No. Do I think he is the greatest? No. Do I think he should say he is the greatest? Hell yea. He is at the top in boxing and he is selling himself. Ali said he was the greatest and actually started saying it before he reached that level. At least Floyd waited.

Floyd has not taken a lot of fights the he should have and they are not all his fault but he has every right to claim what he does. If manny was to say the same thing I would feel the same way and when Roy said it, I felt the same way.

No diss to the old boxers like srr. He was definitely a warrior who only fault for money as his moto, but it is hard for me to praise boxers who have records that high who fought that often, for that long,(15). It makes me question the level of opposition, so I don't get caught up with that because as great as manny and Floyd and rjj is, even with there level of fitness, they would not be able to fight that often. No diss to the old timers but just my Opinion. That is why I never compare boxers today with boxers then.

I think a better question is, is he greater than Sugar Joe? The true measuring stick of greatness, that all fighters should strive for.:deal

He's a great boxer, but most certainly not on par with those guys. And as much as I dislike Mayflower,I dislike him less than I dislike Leonard, although Leonard beats him handily at 147.
