Miller is not knocking Simpson out in the first round. Miller may catch him in an early sub, but I can't see him just knocking Simpson out. Miller is small for 185, and it's not like he is a devastating striker. I would like to see Miller vs a bigger name, but Simpson is a decent match-up. I think Miller will wear Simpson down, and get a 2nd or 3rd round sub. If not, Miller ud after losing the 1st round.
I'm looking for Miller to secure a takedown and rain down elbows to secure a TKO. I don't see how he's small for 185? I think he's actually quite average. He also has fought 205.
Aw, that's ****. Was hoping for better for Mayhem, though I guess this'll give him a chance to show what he's all about to the mainstream UFC fans.
Yeah he was an absolute skeleton at 170. Rogan said he looked horrible. Yeah Alan Belcher would've been a great fight. I'm pretty sure Mayhem has to cut pretty badly at MW but he'd be a little under the weight at LHW or something. If you care that much, check out his second appearance on the Joe Rogan Experience, he explains it all there. http://blog.joerogan.net/archives/2628
MW is a good weight for him. He's got a body like Rich Franklin... just right for MW yet to small for LHW.
Im not understanding why everyone is overlooking Simpson here. Mayhem is an excellent fighter but he isnt the striker some are making him out to be and I agree with Rek he isnt just knocking out Simpson easily in 1 round. Mayhem has always had mediocre wrestling skills and if you dont know Simpson he can wrestle he was an All American in College. Mayhem isnt getting some weak first fight back here by any means.
Uh, I doubt he'll take down Simpson unless Simpson is horrible gassed. If Mayhem wins this (which I hope he does) it'll be on the feet or from the bottom, though I doubt the latter. Simpson is old but pretty good. Not and easy fight for Mayhem at all.
