MAYO vs MOSLEY...how did you SCORE it thru 11...???

I had the 1st round even, the 2nd and 3rd to Mayorga, and all the rest to SSM!

Mosely had Mayorga figured out by the 4th and easily won the middle rounds......the late rounds from my perspective, Mayorga fought to survive, holding and clutching, and doing everything in his power to make it a wrestling match......I dont reward such nonsense when not combined with clear effective punching.
Mayorga put on a late fight performance to make John Ruiz proud!


On a sidenote, Mosely looked slow tonight......partly because Mayorga's rough style, and partly because well, he's 37.

On another note....when comparing Mosely's, DLH's and Trinidad's performances vs Mayorga....both DLH and Trinidad looked alot sharper and more capable vs Mayorga.
The key imo is Mosely's lack of a jab.......he really just pushes is out there as a range finder, while both DLH and Trinidad use it as a weapon.

Mosely is getting slower now, and his lack of a jab may start to hurt him now that his speed and quickness are slowing.

Mayorga up, but if the 12th round had gone to the score cards I had a draw (because Mosley won that round 10-8).

I had Mosley up. waaaay more accurate. But I thought Mayorga put up a great fight, what a shame he couldn't make it - 1 second! Wow...

I thought it was gonna' go to the scorecards for a controversial decision, but I'll be damned if Mosley ain't knock him out.. Can't be saved by the bell so the ref stopped the fight.. Didn't even bother to give a standing 8 count, because he knew Mayorga was done..

 

Mosley clearly won rounds 4-7 and 11.
Mayorga clearly won rounds 1-3 and 8.
rounds 9 and 10 were close.
I think I had Shane ahead. 7-4 or 6-5.

 

I had Mayo up, I was not impressed by his complaining through out the fight, especially when he hit Shane with so many rabbit punches.
Glad Shane won, he's a class act.

It seemed so unreal when Mosely knocked out Mayorga at 2:59 0f the 12th but thats what makes this sport so good. I couldnt understand why/how Mayorga let that happen (of course he did not) but thats Because I am not an Athlete.
