Shane did do some holding early on.....

.....but theres a big difference here of when the fighters hold.
Shane did it when he'd get clipped by a heavy Mayorga shot, and he was'nt in position to counter it.......(fighters do that all the time)
I'll emphasize that Mosely never did it exessively.

However, Mayorga past about the 7th round, incorporated his holding as a tactic and strategy.
Mayorga did it conciously and exessively, (he had no choice as Mosely around this time was controlling the fight)......
Mayorga however through all his holding, was'nt being consistently effective with his connects.
In fact, the cleaner more telling shots were being landed by Mosely through most of Mayorga's holding.

I tell you, it was just like watching John Ruiz in there with Mayorga.
Mosely even went as far as to outstretch his arms away from his body to his sides during the refs call for a break while Mayorga was clinching him, so that everyone would know that he was'nt the one doing the holding.

I hear some people say that Mayorga's tactics were taking Mosely out of his gameplan and making him uncomfortable, thus he was controlling Mosely and should be rewarded.......

Mayorga's holding was exessive and it was'nt accompanied by consistent clean punching......you just dont and should'nt reward that!

I agree with a good portion of what you just said there.

I agree to a point, and I awarded Mosley the rounds that I saw that way...however, I didn't see the whole fight that way...and I can't say it was near as bad as Ruiz.

I had it 108-103 Mayorga. He wasn't stunning himself but I thought Mosely looked like absolute **** the whole way through, except the 6th round, and the 12th round which I thought he was winning anyway until ke knocked Mayorga out. I had 2 even rounds.

I can't believe that many people had it for Mayorga. The fight didn't even seem close. I had Mayorga winning a few rounds, but mostly because there were a few rounds where Shane did almost nothing. Shane blocked almost all of Mayorga's punches all night long, whereas Mayorga blocked Shane's punches with his face. Going into the 12th, I had it 8-2-1 in terms of rounds, in favor of Mosley, and there was a pretty good argument that the 6th should have been a 10-8 round.
