Not funny. The whole fight is a sad example of what's terrible in boxing. A shot fighter tries to sell an absolutely insulting match-up that will end up being a one-sided blow-out, and people are more excited about it than the best non-cherry picking fighter on the planet (Martinez) taking on the best light middleweight (Dzinziruk). Kinda ironic how people said Martinez would trash Cotto at 54 who doesn't deserve another beating, and now he's gonna trash Mayorga and people are cheering.

 

This. I'm a Cotto fan, but this is a poor fight, very poor. Mayorga was breathing out of his ass after 4 rounds against Michael Walker, and if not for pulling off that 9th round, may have only been a few minutes removed from a loss or a draw.

Plus, it's a terrible insult, Cotto's been the much better talker throughout this tedious process.

 

Half Gay lol. Mayorga been selling this fight really well. Too bad he's gonna get taken out.

Its amazing he can still talk all this **** after being brutally beaten on a number of occasions.

Interesting how people embrace Mayorga's trash talk but despite Mayweather's

 

It all comes down to whom people perceive as more likable.

 

The difference is we know Mayorga is just a ringmaster (in the circus sense) and is just trying to sell the event. There's something about Mayweather's trash talk that betrays a a sense of arrogance along with self-doubt. Like he's trying to convince himself it's true without having to actually prove it. (since he has failed to step in with so many of the top dogs in his respective weight classes).
Mayorga starts talking after the fights are made. Mayweather talks **** and never makes the fight.

Another great trash talker was Eric Morales, especially towards Barrera. But you didn't mind it with him because you could really tell that he really hated that guy.

 

Are you dense? Do you think we think "He's gay." is some great wit? What's funny is the fact that he says it.
