mayorga is overated

Agree. Mayorga, to use a Mexican expression, is just about "chingazos" and nothing else.

I don't care if he is over rated or what . . . he is an exciting fighter to watch . . . that's all I care and I want to see him in action. :yep

on a serious note, who overrates mayorga? he's rarely talked about here, though he was a top fighter in his prime. he's fun to watch and thats all i care about. he won the spinks fight too imo.

 

yeah we only hear about mayorga when he's about to fight...lets not act like people are considereing him pound for pound

 

He's getting knocked out and HARD next against Mosley.

 

Silly thread....does anybody actually rate Mayorga highly anymore? You could argue that he was overrated after his back to back wins over Forrest, but he hasn't done anything relevant in years. He's basically become canon fodder for past their prime elite fighters like to beat up on for a quick payday....and yes guys, a prime Vargas would've beaten Mayorga.

No doubt about it.

 

Mayorga is underrated if anything. He was twice as effective and dangerous as someone like Margarito at 147.. IMO even more effective than Williams will be.
