This fight is supposedly postponed, but if Vargas's health doesnt improve? Dont waste the time spent, try to get a third match with Vernon Forrest ASAP!!

 

The point was that for someone who prides themselves on being a fearless Aztec warrior, Vargas should know that Mexican prizefighters have historically fought through much worse. And he's right, 2 weeks before fight time is not appropriate to call it off for anything but a serious injury or illness. Sorry, iron deficiency doesn't make the cut.

Vargas did all that stuff when he was young and able-bodied. He knows in his current state he runs the risk of getting humiliated again, and against a guy he's supposed to be able to beat, and at a weight of his own choosing. He has one disadvantage spring up and instead of manning up and soldiering through it he brings all the gears of the process to a grinding halt. That doesn't speak to his level of confidence going into the fight healthy. "I want to fight IF", "I want to fight AS LONG AS", "I want to fight UNLESS" - a young and confident Vargas wouldn't be caught dead starting any sentence that way. His cowardice has blossomed with age and public humiliation.

that was one of the most well deserved asskickings ever. he got whipped by the guy he was calling a 'fake mexican'.

mayorga is the man! that was more civil from what i expect of him, at least he did'nt bring families, wives, mothers, dogs etc.... into it. imo vargas has flipped the script on vargas as he was giving off the impression that vargas was a 'fake mexican' warrior.

 

Well, well, well... don't you guys think that maybe.... just maybe... the fight has been postponed to give it a little more of excitement..... I mean, I haven't really seen or heard yet a REAL EVIDENCE that Vargas has indeed a physical/health problem....If someone has a medical exam on hand to prove that, please post it.

I think this fight is going to happen, and probably it will happen in December. I am picking Mayorga for this fight, but I don't think Vargas is a coward. I just think that maybe Don King is cooking something else, and at this point someone has to say something, and maybe Mayorga is the best guy right now to come out and say something that can keep the fire going somehow.

I am really surprised about Mayorga's comments... he looks like a respectful person....not the real Mayorga we know, and that is why I think there is something going on.... you know what I mean?

On the other hand, we don't know what Don King has in mind....maybe he's working on something better for us....maybe a better card.....I want to believe that. :yep

The above is just a thought, I could be totally wrong but it is not the first time... and probably wont be the last one.

 

Do you really buy Vargas storry? I just think he was just to fat to make weight or he tried to hard to make weight and got ill because of it, well thats his fault. Normally 162 should be no problem for him cause thats above his normal fighting weight. Now they will fight on November 23, if Vargas pulls out again hes a complete joke. Thats much time and both fighters should be in great shape cause they are already training since months. Is the fight still at 162? i think the should make it a normal middlewight fight at 160 pounds, not this bull**** catchweight. Both guys normally fight at 154 or 147 so this should be nor problem.

 

I've always liked Mayorga and never thought he was a horrible person or anything like that. It's obvious that he just acts like an ******* to make more money and promote fights. Would this fight be PPV if Mayorga was just another quiet latin-american fighter that spoke no english coming off a loss? Of course not. Also, his trash talk is funny as hell (probably even much funnier in spanish), his fights are exciting, and he gives it his all, even in losses. I bet on Mayorga and the under rounds bet the day before the postponement happened and I am even more confident that he will take Vargas out now. I can't wait to see Vargas getting his ass beat again. I don't even remember the last time I was so excited about a fight that was pretty much meaningless.

 

What amazes me is that so many are trying to discredit the announcment. Vargas has been a warrior who's never backed down and fought pretty much everyone.He has had back problems and that's well known. The combination of the pain med's and the extreme swings in weight have undoubtedly taken their toll. This isnt a farce, it's a reality. Shame, that some want to suddenly talk a lot of ****, like the Nicaraguan ******* Mayorga.

Mayorga is a ****ing scumbag who's tirades and rants get a lot of people to watch him get his ****ing head caved in. That is exactly what he deserves and all the **** talking, cigarettes, tequila, and rapes couldnt help him vs DLH and Trinidad who beat him like the ****ing mule he is:good

Personally, I felt that Vargas should have retired after SSM and dont feel like he has what he once did. Regardless of outcome, the winner of this fight isnt going far at 160 or 154:nono

I'm more interested in seeing Forrest get a third shot at El Douchebag so that he can in some way atone for the amazing defeats suffered against such an unskilled fighter. Vernon WILL win the third fight:good
